December 19, 2025

Stepan marked a historic milestone with the official ribbon cutting of its alkoxylation facility in Pasadena, Texas. This event brought together company leadership, site teams, and key stakeholders to celebrate a project that represents the largest capital investment in Stepan’s history.

The ceremony featured remarks from senior leaders, including Quinn Stepan, Chairman, Luis Rojo, President and CEO, Rob Haire, Executive Vice President, Supply Chain, Sean Moriarty, Vice President and General Manager - Surfactants and Martina Hudoba, Site Director – Pasadena, who emphasized the strategic importance of Pasadena in Stepan’s growth journey. Guests enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour of the facility and engaged in conversations about the advanced capabilities that will shape the future of our operations.

The Pasadena facility, strategically located in the U.S. Gulf Coast near critical raw materials, enhances supply reliability and flexibility, expands alkoxylation capacity with both ethoxylation and propoxylation capabilities, and supports an annual output of 75,000 metric tons. This dual capability supports innovation in product development for diverse markets, including agriculture, oilfield, construction, cleaning, and personal care.

“The thing that excites me most about the Pasadena site is all the opportunity and capabilities that we have here. We have been able to incorporate so many different best practices from other Stepan locations in the construction of this site,” said Martina Hudoba – Site Director, Pasadena.

By expanding our alkoxylation product network, we are increasing both capacity and our range of product offerings, enabling us to confidently meet our customers’ evolving needs and respond to the growing global demand for our products. Beyond production, this project also reflects Stepan’s unwavering commitment to safety, with more than two million work hours completed without a single recordable safety incident.

With Pasadena fully operational, Stepan is positioned to deliver enhanced solutions and enable our customers’ success. This milestone reflects our shared commitment to providing innovative chemical solutions for a cleaner, healthier, more energy efficient world and we are proud of the dedication and effort put forth to bring our Pasadena alkoxylation plant to life.
